Our History
Aseki Insurance Brokers was initially founded by four professionals as directors from the University of Kelaniya as “Kelani Uni Insurance brokers” way back in 2010. It was authorized to do both General and Long term Insurance brokering business and was in operation with only four employees.
In 2015, Kelani Uni Insurance brokers was taken over by Aseki Insurance Brokers and new Board of directors and management took over the operations. During this period, Aseki was ranked 36th in terms of premium income other insurance brokers in Sri Lanka according to the Insurance Regulatory Commission (IRCSL).

The golden era of Aseki Insurance was witnessed from 2018 with the change of ownership of the company. The strategies of the new management paved the way for many novel ideas and within a very short period of time, Aseki was able to secure the fifth and third positions in terms of premium income in 2019 and 2020 respectively. In 2021 Aseki became the second in premium income generation among 72 broking companies.

Board Of Directors
Presently serving as the Director of the Aseki Insurance Brokers Pvt Limited, holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of West London (UK) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Special) degree with honors from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Also, an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) UK and a certificate holder of Institute of Personnel Management of Sri Lanka Inc.
The Versatile interest and expertise in many fields paved the way to be in the current position and prior was the Managing director of the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited which is the petroleum distribution hub of Sri Lanka. Possess immense experience and expertise to the present role having held many top management positions from early part of his professional life.
Having started the career as a Banker at Sampath Bank PLC and was instrumental in implementing many initiatives that contributed to the financial performance and qualitative achievements of Merchant Bank of Sri Lanka way back in year 2000.
Was a consultant in productivity and systems development in manufacturing sector led to embark on the 20 year long career in the Apparel Industry. He was the driving force behind the numerous achievements received during the tenure with Textured Jersey Lanka Limited, MAS Active Shadeline Pvt Limited, Sumithra Group of Companies and Ebony Holdings Pvt Limited as the General Manager and Head of Manufacturing.
He is also a Director at Enterprise Ceylon Capital Pvt Limited a trading member of the Colombo Stock Exchange and CastleOne Pvt Limited an Education Service Provider.
Mr Razik Mohamed is a former non-executive director of Citizens Development Business Finance PLC and a Senior Chartered Accountant. He counts over 40 years of industry experience in Sri Lanka and abroad.
Presently, he serves as a Director of Asia Management Consultancy (Pvt) Ltd & Enterprise Ceylon Capital Pvt Ltd and a Counsellor of the CA Sri Lanka Students Gavel Club, affiliated with Toast masters International.
Mr Razik has expanded his career experience by serving as a project Accountant, Chief Accountant, Management Accountant and as the group Finance Director in several leading Overseas companies. He is a Trustee of the Gratuity Trust Funds of Ceylinco Life Insurance Ltd and Ceylinco Insurance PLC.
A fellow member of the institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Associate Member of Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (special) degree from the university of Sri Jayewardenepura.
He underwent training at De Silva Wijeyratne & Co (Chartered Accountants) And Jayasinghe & Co (CharteredAccountants),and joined Ceylinco Insurance PLC in 1990. He held the position of Senior Accountant till 1998. Later he joined Sri Lanka Telecom PLC and completed 22 years’ service, out of which 20 years as the Deputy General Manager, Group Finance.
Currently serving as a Director of Asia Management Consultancy (Pvt) Ltd and Enterprise Ceylon Capital Pvt Ltd.
Strategic Management Team
E P Ariyadasa is an BA (Hons) graduate from University of Peradeniya and Holds an Insurance Diploma from Colombo Technical College. He has obtained a foundation diploma on Insurance from the Mumbai College of Insurance and has followed a diploma on Insurance Foundations and Marketing at the Paalia Institute of Insurance in Japan.
He has participated in Insurance workshops in Hong-Kong and Thailand.
After having 35 years of experience as a Manager and an Area Manager at Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation, He has worked as the Principal Officer at Koshiba Insurance Brokers and Kelani Uni Insurance Brokers. He is the Principal Officer of Aseki Insurance Brokers Pvt Limited from inception.
An insurance professional counting over 47 years’ experience at management level in the industry having hands on exposure from its transformation from a Govt. monopolized industry to an open competitive industry with the participation of the privet sector insurers and Brokers. Currently serving as the Consultant – Compliance, for Aseki Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd.
Having worked with some of the most renowned private sector insurers, local and foreign, namely CTC Eagle Insurance Co. and Arab Orient Insurance Company of Dubai, he has gained knowledge in underwriting of risks, claims negotiations and settlement procedures, risk management techniques, reviewing and analyzing portfolios, managing key clients, negotiating with insurers on a wide spectrum of issues.
He was heading the insurance departments of many a blue-chip company in Sri Lanka with wide and diverse business portfolios in Fire, Marine, General Accident & Liability and Motor.
Engaged in the services of a loss adjuster and investigator, being a Principal Officer for many broking companies and holding numerous crucial positions in the industry has placed in a unique position of having covered the entire gamut of insurance services in the industry.
An Associate of the Indian Insurance Institute, part qualified in its Fellowship exam and have completed 6 subjects in the Associateship examination of the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK. Personally responsible in forming the first fully fledged insurance department at Hatton National Bank PLC and heading the insurance division of Brandix Lanka PLC at its inception.
Currently serving as an Insurance Executive at Aseki Insurance Brokers (Pvt) Ltd., he marks his 5th year at our company. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Business Management from University of Staffordshire (UK). He is currently overseeing the overall
operation and administration in the company.
